Electric window regulators
The operating procedure of window regulators in Audi 80 is defined not only switches, but also the control unit by window regulators located in the additional block of the relay.
|
|
- At the working engine glass of a driver's door moves up or down to an emphasis after short pressing the switch. However it is possible to stop glass in short pressing the switch in the movement direction up. This function of comfortable switching is necessary in the cars which have been let out till October of 92 g.
- At the idle engine or on cars of later releases glass of a driver's door moves only when the window regulator switch is pressed. Thus no matter, glass rises or falls, the door is open or closed.
- Only by pressing of the switch other glasses in the car move also. It is possible to block glasses of back doors from the central switch in an armrest of a driver's door.
- If the driver's door was open and is again closed at the idle engine, the system of window regulators is disconnected (anticreeping protection).

Malfunctions
Motors of electric window regulators act in film in the same way, as well as mechanical lifts, see the description in head «Body elements». Repair of the electromotor is not provided.

- If any glass does not move, it is necessary to check a safety lock below in the additional block of the relay (head Body electrosystem). As it is a question of an automatic safety lock, a food should be restored later short time.
- If only one window regulator does not work, you need to remove the corresponding switch and to check it according to the scheme described in this chapter.
- If the switch is serviceable, it is necessary to remove a covering of the corresponding door.
- To separate tips of wires of the motor of a window regulator and to check by means of a control lamp, whether tension arrives at window regulator inclusion.
- If still it was not possible to find any defect, means, the window regulator electromotor is faulty.
- If to the electromotor a food does not arrive, it is necessary to check conducting and the control unit.
- The bad course of one of glasses can be caused by jamming in directing.

Malfunction elimination in a way
Even if window regulators of your car refused, it all the same yet an occasion to go to a wind and a storm with open glasses.

|
- If the switch is faulty, try to close a window from other switch.
- If it is impossible (for example if the driver's door is mentioned), remove the tip of other glass or throw wires on other, serviceable switch.
- By means of this serviceable switch you can close glass.
- If the wire to the electromotor is interrupted, disconnect the tip, lay an auxiliary wire from a positive conclusion of the accumulator and the second wire from "weight" to the electric motor and lift glass.
- If the motor of a window regulator is faulty, you can at the removed covering of a door, to remove glass from a window regulator. For this purpose it is necessary to wring out a safety lock ring on a reverse side of a window regulator fixing glass to a window regulator (to use thus a mirror). Now push glass up and fix in this situation by a gluing tape or a wooden wedge.
