Coupling check

In the established condition it is impossible to distinguish wear of a conducted disk. The first sign of wear is proskalzyvany couplings.

Sliding coupling attracts attention at first on the highest transfer at movement with cargo. The engine grows, and speed remains former. About wear you can receive a certain concept, having done the following experience which should not be repeated too often.

Slips coupling or not?

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To put the car on the hand brake, to start the engine.
  2. To include the third transfer, slowly to squeeze out coupling and to give gas.
  3. At the good hand brake the engine should decay.
  4. If the engine continues to work, it is necessary to repair coupling.

Whether "conducts" coupling?

If the transmission is difficult switched even at the heated-up engine or process of switching is accompanied by scratching or creaking sounds, most likely, coupling completely is not switched off, i.e. it "conducts". The similar effect is caused by transmission damages quite seldom. To be completely sure, we will make experiment with the first or reverse gear:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To leave the engine to work in an idling mode.
  2. Completely to squeeze out a coupling pedal, to wait for about three seconds, and then to try to include the first or back transfers.
  3. If transfer joins hardly or the transmission creak is audible, it means that coupling "conducts". The conducted disk rotates thus not absolutely freely.
  4. To check hydraulics of coupling and to pump over.
  5. Once again to make the above described experiment.
  6. Other reasons of not being divided coupling are given in the list of malfunctions at the end of head.
