System of production of the fulfilled gases

In these drawings systems of production of exhaust gases of the front-wheel Audi 80 models are shown.

4-cylinder engine in capacity of 66 kW:

1–forward exhaust pipe;
2–catalyst;
3–main exhaust silencer;
4–additional exhaust silencer.

4-cylinder engine in capacity of 85 kW:

5–forward exhaust pipe;
6–catalyst;
3–main exhaust silencer;
4–additional exhaust silencer.

5-cylinder engine in capacity of 133 kW:

7–forward exhaust pipe;
8–catalyst;
9–main exhaust silencer;
10-additional exhaust silencer.

6-cylinder engine in capacity of 110/128 kW:

11-forward exhaust pipes with catalysts for both ranks of cylinders;
12-main exhaust silencer;
13-additional exhaust silencer.

Depending on the established engine the Audi 80 car is supplied with the system of release of the fulfilled gases designed completely in own way. Besides, there are basic distinctions between systems of production of the fulfilled gases of front-wheel and all-wheel drive models.

Components of system of production of the fulfilled gases

Front-wheel models

The final collector is attached to the block of cylinders.
It is followed by a forward exhaust pipe which is executed at the engine in capacity of 66 kW of the unary.
The 4-cylinder engine in capacity of 85 kW and the 5-cylinder engine are supplied with the double pipe passing to an unary pipe.
Absolutely the exhaust system at the 6-cylinder engine is in a different way arranged: two forward exhaust pipes from which everyone is supplied with the catalyst.
Catalytic converter with a short piece of a pipe is the following instance in system of production of exhaust gases at 4-and 5-cylinder engines. At the 6-cylinder engine again all in a different way: here short pieces of a pipe are located.
Further away middle (main) and additional exhaust silencers are established. The main exhaust silencer 5-and 6-cylinder models is especially appreciable, at which two exhaust silencers stand as though the friend opposite to the friend on the right and to the left of a longitudinal axis of the car.
On an example of the additional exhaust silencer the hierarchy of models is shown: at 6-cylinder model a tip double.

All-wheel drive models (quattro)

To catalytic converter of system of production of the fulfilled gases of front-wheel and all-wheel drive models are identical. Distinctions then begin:

At the 6-cylinder engine the intermediate bifurcate pipe reduces both pipes (leaving from catalytic converters) in one.
Here the main and additional exhaust silencers which at original final system are rigidly connected among themselves by means of a passable piece of a pipe are connected. At repair it is possible to establish both exhaust silencers and separately.
These components are identical to all models. The double main exhaust silencer of front-wheel models in all-wheel drive models is replaced with the volume unary exhaust silencer. The additional exhaust silencer is supplied with a double tip.
