Removal of headlights

Elements of the main headlight (on an illustration of a headlight of models with 4-and 5-cylinder engines)

1–rasseivatel;
2–rubber sealant;
3–a reflector with the lamp case;
4–fixing brackets;

5–engine of regulation of a tilt angle of headlights;
6–cap;
7–decorative slip;
8–headlight case.


For removal of a headlight it is necessary to turn out the bolts designated on an illustration by shooters.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Preparation, see in the section Replacement of lamps.
  2. To remove a strip under headlights (see head body Elements).
  3. Behind on a headlight to weaken a cap (and), to disconnect the multicontact tip and the boss of a parking light.
  4. To stretch a plait of wires with a cover through an opening in the block headlight case.
  5. To turn out two fixing screws above from the body panel; two more under a headlight.
  6. To take out a headlight forward.
  7. Models with 4-and 5-cylinder engines: in addition to remove the case of the index of turn.

Headlight analysis

If glass of a headlight is damaged or the reflector grew dull, it is not so necessary to replace at once all headlight. Both details it is possible to get separately, having specified the producer (Hella or Bosch firm). For installation you should disassemble the removed headlight.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To open all fixing latches round headlight glass.
  2. To remove a rasseivatel and a sealing elastic band.
  3. Carefully to hook the chromeplated decorative slip round a reflector and to extend it.
  4. To rotate both adjusting screws until it will be impossible to raise a reflector a hand.
  5. To turn out the screw with a crosswise shliyets from knot of motionless fastening of a reflector.
  6. After assembly to adjust a headlight.

 Help: rasseivatel and reflectors (reflectors) of headlights it is at all unessential to buy from Audi. The shops trading in spare parts, receive them directly from the producer (Hella or Bosch).
