Malfunctions and independent diagnostics

The control unit of system of injection can distinguish and write down in memory of the store of malfunctions exactly 30 types of the malfunctions arising in electronic system of system of ignition/injection. It is thus fixed: whether this malfunction is permanent or sporadic (arising only from time to time). Records about sporadic arising malfunctions are erased after 50 starts of the engine in case sporadic malfunction did not appear again.

Data of the store of malfunctions are read out in workshops by means of the special device for reading of V. A. G 1551 (see the section Regular servicing). In house conditions it is impossible to interrogate memory of the store of malfunctions therefore in case of suspected defect of system of ignition/injection it is necessary to address in a workshop for data read-out of the store of malfunctions. In addition you can use and our list of malfunctions provided in the end of head in which the numerous possible malfunctions which are beyond independent diagnostics are given. Memory of the store of malfunctions after the made repair needs to be cleared in a workshop.

 Help: the control unit of system of injection of MPFI (the 2,6-liter engine) remains active within one and a half hours after ignition switching off. It means that defect of system of injection arising at this time also registers in memory of the store of malfunctions. As defect is distinguished, including disconnected, (for example for sensor control) the tip.

But the aforesaid, however, does not mean that you should wait each time an hour and a half before to start repair. After all similar interruption as malfunction arises only once and, therefore, gets to "box" for sporadic (arising from time to time) malfunctions record about which, as we know, is again erased.
