Measurement of brake shoes of the drum-type mechanism

The viewing opening for control of thickness of overlays of the back drum-type brake mechanism is located in a guard of the drum-type brake mechanism in front in the movement direction. At the removed cover are visible a brake shoe (1) with the frictional brake slip pasted on it (2). The brake reel (3) is also visible. |
As the active block wears out quicker back passive, it is necessary to measure thickness on a forward block.

- To lift the car behind.
- To remove a plastic cap on inside of the corresponding wheel in front on a guard of the drum-type brake mechanism.
- To light a pocket small lamp in a viewing opening, to establish thickness of a block.
- Wear of blocks is admissible to 2,5 mm of residual thickness – without thickness of the carrier. Otherwise they are necessary for changing.
