Ignition distributor

Distributor of ignition of the 5-cylinder engine in unassembled form

1–begunok of the distributor of ignition;
2–dustproof cover;
3–cover of the distributor of ignition;

To open the ignition distributor: to wring out a screw-driver fixing brackets (arrows), to lift a distributor (4) cover from the case (3), to remove a distributor (1) begunok, to remove a dustproof cover (2).

VMT – position of the distributor of ignition: the contact payment a begunka of the distributor should be opposite to a mark on the brink of the case (shooter). A mark it is visible at the removed dustproof cover.

Models with 4-and 5-cylinder engines

The distributor of ignition is in a sense words two-level. At each level various works are performed:

  • In a high-voltage element the begunok of the distributor distributes an ignition impulse on candles.
  • At the bottom level of the distributor the sensor of the Hall causing operating impulses is located.

Dismantling of the distributor of ignition


  1. To wring out metal fixing brackets of a cover by means of a screw-driver.
  2. To disconnect a "weight" wire from shielding.
  3. To uncover the distributor, high-voltage wires remain connected.
  4. To remove a distributor begunok, to take out the dustproof cover located below.
  5. At installation to insert a dustproof cover so that the directing ledge entered into a groove on edge of the case of the distributor.
  6. At a begunka of the distributor there is an inflow which enters into dredging on a distributor shaft.
  7. The cover of the distributor is also supplied with inflow as protection against shift, it should enter into cut on the distributor case.

Check of the distributor of ignition


  1. To uncover the ignition distributor. It should be pure both inside, and outside in order that the current-carrying raid from dirt, products of a friction or moisture did not take away a high-tension current from ignition system.
  2. Contact coal in the middle should be smooth and brilliant, move without jammings and jammings.
  3. Begunok of the distributor should not be scorched on a contact uvula and on filling mass of the pomekhopodavlyayushchy resistor between average contact and a uvula.
  4. Correctly chosen begunok of the distributor should have «R1» marking.
  5. Strips as from a graphitic pencil, on a cover of the distributor are traces of leakage of a current which burned out these strips because of dirt or moisture.
  6. Temporarily it can be corrected, if сцарапать their screw-driver or a knife and to cover from above with a layer of glue, nail polish or, for want of something better, simply lipstick.

Removal of the distributor of ignition


  1. Removal: to establish the first cylinder in situation the provision VMT of the moment of ignition, see head Engines.
  2. To uncover the ignition distributor.
  3. To turn out a bolt on distributor fixture (below at the basis) to remove the ignition distributor.
  4. Installation: distributive and cranked shaft still should be in situation VMT to (check).
  5. Only models with the 4-cylinder engine: at an end face of a shaft of the oil pump it is necessary to establish a cut in an opening of the distributor of ignition parallel to a cranked shaft.
  6. To turn the distributor roller so that the contact payment a begunka of the distributor coincided with a mark on the brink of the distributor case.
  7. To insert the ignition distributor, if necessary to turn its case, before coincidence to a mark. In summary to adjust ignition, see at the end of head.
