Repair of a forward suspension bracket

Very many elements of a forward suspension bracket of wheels can be removed independently and again to establish. Devices nevertheless are necessary for carrying out certain works from a workshop. The damaged parts of a suspension bracket by no means cannot be corrected and furthermore to weld, it is necessary to replace them essentially new.

Removal of a forward amortization rack

Removal of an amortization rack above. After removal of a cover (1) it is possible to weaken a nut of fastening of an amortization rack by means of a cap key (3). For this purpose to hold a shock-absorber rod with a face six-sided key (2).

At removal of an amortization rack it is necessary to consider: if it to disconnect from the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel, it is necessary to make anew adjustment of corners of installation of wheels that is possible only at the measuring stand in a workshop.

For this reason we describe here removal of an amortization rack together with the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel.

One more addition: to an inhaling of the top nut of an amortization rack of mechanics in a workshop apply a face wrench of VW 3078. For want of something better for performance of these works it is possible to use a cap wrench and own intuition.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To get new самоконтрящуюся a nut and a new tightening bolt of the hinge of an independent suspension bracket.
  2. At the car standing on the earth to weaken the central fixing bolt of a power shaft in a wheel nave (in the middle of a wheel).
  3. To weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel.
  4. Evenly to raise the car in front that the stabilizer was not loaded. To provide car fixing.
  5. To remove a wheel.
  6. To disconnect draft of the stabilizer from both amortization racks, to wring out the stabilizer up.
  7. To disconnect a bracket of the disk brake mechanism and to strengthen it on a body by means of a wire – the pipeline of a brake drive remains connected.
  8. To separate the hinge of cross-section steering draft.
  9. To remove tightening a bolt of the axial hinge at the very bottom at an amortization rack.
  10. Mount to extend a hinge finger from an amortization rack. Thereby the amortization rack and the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket are divided. Thus by no means it is impossible to expand shlitsa in the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel, for example with a screw-driver.
  11. To turn out a wheel and to take a power shaft from a wheel nave.
  12. To uncover a glass of an amortization rack in a motor compartment.
  13. To remove above from a rod a nut of fastening of an amortization rack. For this purpose to hold a rod with a key for an internal shestigrannik.
  14. Thus to hold an amortization rack from below.
  15. To take out an amortization rack in the direction down and at the same time completely to remove it from a power shaft.
  16. To installation to apply new самоконтрящиеся nuts and new tightening a bolt of the hinge of a suspension bracket.
  17. To establish tightening a bolt so that its head was directed forward in the direction of travel.
  18. Inhaling moments: nut of the top fastening of an amortization rack: 60 N • m, nut of cross-section steering draft: 30 N • m, tightening bolt of the hinge of an independent suspension bracket: 50 N • m, connecting draft of the stabilizer on an amortization rack: 40 N • m.
  19. If the same amortization rack and thus the bolts connecting the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel and an amortization rack is established, remain all the time clamped, it is not necessary to correct adjustment of corners of installation of wheels.

Further are designated: fixing nuts (2) by which the hinge of a suspension bracket is connected with the bottom cross-section lever.

Replacement of the forward shock-absorber

For carrying out this work (at the removed amortization rack) it is necessary the device for a tension (compression) of a spring. You will need at least two strippers, it is even better – three. Without use of the device for a tension of a spring it is impossible to weaken a shlitsevy nut above on a shock-absorber rod because the spring is in a condition of a strong preliminary tension. Otherwise compound details of an amortization rack will scatter in the parties as at explosion – danger of accident is great!

Besides, already it will be impossible to establish an uncompressed spring into place. Natyazhiteli of springs can be got in shops of spare parts. Further the following special tools be required: VW 524 key for weakening of a shlitsevy nut and the tool 40-201 A for weakening of a carving cover over the shock-absorber. If you do not have them, it is necessary to help itself a big trumpet key.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To remove an amortization rack (see the previous section).
  2. To clamp an amortization rack through wooden klinyshka at height of the lever of a rotary fist in a vice. Never clamp for a cylindrical site, differently you crush an amortization rack.
  3. To establish a natyazhitel of springs at rounds of a spring and a few to compress it.
  4. In order that the natyazhitel of springs did not slide off, it is necessary to paste over these rounds with a kleyushchy tape if necessary.
  5. Now to weaken a shlitsevy nut at the top of an amortization rack. To hold a shock-absorber rod with a wrench.
  6. To remove a spring together with the bearing of an amortization rack and additional details.
  7. To remove a carving cover above at the shock-absorber.
  8. To extend the shock-absorber.
  9. At plant liquid shock-absorbers are established. In this case it is necessary to pour out old liquid of the shock-absorber (a special waste!) and to clean its rod.
  10. To establish a new cartridge of the shock-absorber without liquid.
  11. Sequence of installation of components look in drawing on the right above. Further pay attention: color marking of springs specifies a bottom.
  12. Inhaling moments: carving cover of the boss of the shock-absorber: 150 N • m, a shlitsevy nut on a shock-absorber rod: 50 N • m.

Removal of the forward bearing of a nave of a wheel

The bearing of a nave of a wheel is pressed by the external ring in the case, in an internal ring the wheel nave is pressed. The new bearing of a nave of a wheel by no means cannot be driven on the place a hammer, differently you "establish" the following damage together with the bearing. Therefore it is better to remove only an amortization rack and to disconnect a disk of the brake mechanism, and also a casing. And actually you should entrust removal and bearing installation to a workshop at the disposal of which there is a repair press.

Replacement of the axial hinge

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To get new самоконтрящуюся a nut and a new tightening bolt of the hinge of an independent suspension bracket.
  2. Evenly to raise the car in front that the stabilizer was not loaded. To provide car fixing.
  3. To remove a tightening bolt of the hinge of a suspension bracket at the very bottom of an amortization rack.
  4. Mount to squeeze out a finger of the hinge of an independent suspension bracket at an amortization rack. Thus by no means it is impossible to expand shlitsa in the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel, for example with a screw-driver.
  5. To note adjusting position of the hinge on the bottom cross-section lever of a suspension bracket.
  6. To turn off fixing nuts of the axial hinge below from the bottom cross-section lever of draft. To remove the hinge.
  7. When fastening the axial hinge to consider the marks made at removal, in this case adjustment of corners of installation of wheels remains approximately former.
  8. Not to forget lining plates for fixing nuts.
  9. Inhaling moments: nuts of the hinge of an independent suspension bracket it is necessary to tighten the moment of 65 N • m, nuts of a tightening bolt the moment of 50 N • m.
  10. To make in a workshop adjustment of corners of installation of wheels.

Removal of the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. It will be necessary to replace everything самоконтрящиеся nuts, and also the bolts connecting support of the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket and a beam of the bridge.
    The cross-section lever of a suspension bracket to remove or together with the axial hinge, or without it. What bolts need to be weakened in that or in other case, describes the previous section.
  2. To turn out nuts of internal plugs of a support of the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket.
  3. If internal bearings of the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket already wore out, before installation of the lever it is better to press at once (in a workshop) the new.
  4. Installation: to strengthen the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket outside on the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel or on the hinge of an independent suspension bracket. You will find the inhaling moments in the previous section.
  5. Nuts of internal bearings of the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket at first to tighten poorly. To tighten up to the end follows only when the car will stand on wheels. Bearings of the cross-section lever otherwise can warp.
  6. Moments of an inhaling of nuts of internal bearings of the cross-section lever of a suspension bracket: at first
    40 N • m, in summary to turn on 1/4 turns (90 °).
