Safety measures requirements

The gas generator of a safety cushion is subject to instructions of the law on explosives. The treatment of them is authorized only to the personnel familiar with numerous requirements of safety measures.

From the list of precautionary measures the following is especially important:

PERFORMANCE ORDER

At repair of a safety cushion it is obligatory to disconnect the accumulator.
In addition to separate shtekerny connection under a covering of a steering column.
At interruption of works never to leave a safety cushion out of sight.
To put the safety cushion block only a power absorbing plate (laying) up.
At welding works on the car to disconnect the storage battery.
After road accident to replace all components of system.
To carry out car utilization only according to instructions!

Removal of a steering wheel

The models supplied with a safety cushion

Removal of a steering wheel of the car supplied with a safety cushion, it is possible to recommend to only the skilled mechanic. The one who is not confident in the forces, should address in a workshop.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

It is obligatory to observe safety measures requirements.
To disconnect the cable of the storage battery conducting to "weight".
To disconnect the safety cushion block at the left and on the right on a steering wheel behind by means of key Т30.
To put the block of an inflatable safety cushion back.
To disconnect a safety bracket of the tip of the block of a safety cushion.
To disconnect the tip from the safety cushion block.
To put the safety cushion block so that Audi rings on the block were visible.
To remove the top part of a covering of a steering column.
To extend shtekerny connection of a supply of conducting of the block of a safety cushion from the lower part of a covering. For this purpose a screw-driver slightly to press a fixing ledge in the middle of the lower part of the tip and to extend connection.
To separate shtekerny connection.
To remove a steering wheel according to the description for the models which have not been supplied with a safety cushion.
At installation in addition to the instructions concerning models without a safety cushion, it is necessary to consider the following: after installation of a steering wheel and an inhaling of bolts a hand to screw a fixing bolt of the block of a safety cushion.
Then to tighten at first right (on a car course) a bolt the moment of 6 N • m.
In the last turn to tighten the left bolt the moment of 6 N • m.
