Switches

Removal of switches (toggle-switches)

At the left: to weaken three screws with a crosswise shliyets (arrow). To uncover (1), to disconnect a covering with the lever switch (2).

On the right: the covering and the lever switch (1) are removed, disconnected multicontact tips (2 and 4). Now it is necessary to disconnect only one-contact connection (3).


Keyboard switches are fixed by spring brackets (arrow). For removal it is necessary to extend a shelf (a white arrow) and to separate the tip (1).


For replacement of bulbs of illumination (3) and a symbol (2) to remove the keyboard switch (1).


At all-wheel drive cars in the central console one more keyboard switch (2) blocking of differential of the back bridge is located. As well as other switches, it too is simply inserted. For replacement of a bulb it is possible to hook and remove the switch (1) button.


Models with 4-and 5-cylinder engines: on an illustration the removed panel with switches is shown:

1 and 2 – fixing partitions for screw connections;
3 and 5 – switches of electric window regulators;
4–central switch;
6–switch of electric regulation of external rear-view mirrors. Shooters point to fixing ledges by means of which the first line of an element keeps in a door covering.


Models with 6-cylinder engines: for panel removal with switches (1) it is necessary to disconnect left an armrest (2) from a covering. For this purpose to turn out three screws with an internal shestigrannik in the lower part of an armrest. On an illustration keys for internal shestigrannik (arrow) are put to screws.


At the removed combination of devices both screws without a head (2) are visible, holding the switch of the lock of ignition (3) – on an illustration it is shown removed together with the connected tip (1).

Lever switches

Lever switches (toggle-switches) located at a wheel, are assembled in Audi 80 in the complex block and by that can be replaced only in a complex. The removal description is lower:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To remove a steering wheel (head the Suspension bracket and a steering). Special care is demanded by work with a steering wheel of the models equipped with a safety cushion.
  2. To insert a screw-driver with a krestovy head on the right below into dredging on a covering of a steering column and to find the screw.
  3. A few to weaken the screw, but not to take out completely.
  4. To extend an element with the lever switch.
  5. To separate multicontact tips and one-contact plug connection.
  6. If it will be necessary to replace the switch, it is necessary to unscrew two screws in the lower part of a covering and to remove parts of a covering.

Keyboard switches

As a rule, three keyboard switches are located in Audi 80 under the central ventilating openings on the dashboard. In this case nearby there is a small shelf. If switches more than two, the smaller shelf in the sizes is put, at full number of switches for it does not remain places absolutely. Thus, removal of switches differs also a little.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To pull out a cap that it was possible to reach a reverse side of the nearby switch.
  2. Or to pull out a felt cap and to turn out the screw located behind it with a crosswise shliyets. To pull out a shelf.
  3. The version without a shelf: to remove autoradio (the description of it see below in this chapter) and with the connected wires to pull out from an adjusting nest.
  4. All versions: from a reverse side to squeeze out the switch from an adjusting opening
  5. To separate the multicontact tip.
  6. In the same way caps for installation of new press switches act in film.

Replacement of illumination of switches

In keyboard switches small bulbs with a glass socle for illumination of symbols are established, and also – of them – in addition bulbs for illumination of a symbol arrow «the switch is switched on in some». Replacement of bulbs:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Carefully to hook a key a small screw-driver.
  2. To pull out a bulb with a glass socle sharp pincers or strong tweezers.
  3. To insert a new bulb with a glass socle.
  4. This method is suitable not for all versions of switches. If it is impossible to change a bulb, it is necessary to change all switch.

Switches in an armrest

In the top level of a polokotnik of the left door switches of electric regulation of external rear-view mirrors and electric window regulators are located. Removal:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Models with 4-and 5-cylinder engines: to turn out the screw (ы) with crosswise shlitsa in the lower part of an armrest, to remove this part.
  2. Now there were available two screws (in the models which have not been equipped electric window regulators, – four) to the top part of an armrest – to turn out.
  3. Slightly to raise the top part of an armrest with switches and with effort to extend back.
  4. Now it is possible to unhook hooks at a forward end face of an armrest of edge of a covering of a door.
  5. Carefully to extend up the panel with switches.
  6. Models with 6-cylinder engines: to weaken in total three screws with internal shestigranniky 4 mm in the lower part of an armrest, to remove an armrest.
  7. To take out the panel with switches from an armrest.
  8. All models: to separate multicontact tips.
  9. To unblock plastic clamps of switches and to take out switches down from a plate.
