Thanks to a cowl with big «four rings» Audi 80 the last among other Audis gained modern "family" lines. The bodies painted color forward and back aprons with the built-in bumpers is a component of the general elegant form. New Audi in comparison with models of the previous series makes resolutely more "adult" impression thanks to increase in length of the car (approximately upon 8 cm), bases (on 7 cm) and width of a track (on 4 cm), and also to 15-inch wheels.

The form of a back part of the car decides by a big light strip on a black fringing and a wide aperture of a luggage compartment. Cut of a luggage compartment reaches level of a bumper and thanks to the small height facilitates loading, including at the cast-away back seat. Advantage is also the width of an aperture of a luggage compartment in the whole meter. Luggage carriers of front-wheel and all-wheel drive models are identical on volume. The fuel tank and a spare wheel with the normal tire are located under a flat bottom of a luggage compartment.

The fuel tank of front-wheel models contains at least 66 l, all-wheel drive models – 64 l.

It is not visible at first sight, but for Audi 80 with its four doors, a wide trunk lid and possibility of loading of a luggage compartment the body should be designed anew. It was thus necessary to create especially rigid body, despite an easy design.

For this purpose considerable strengthenings on strategically important directions, such as the bottom, wheel niches behind and area of racks were required.

Avant (versatile person)

In August, 1992 option with a body Audi 80 sedan is supplemented for the first time with the version with a body the versatile person. Attractive Avant was developed in Austria by Steyr firm and can contain to ^{1,2 m3} luggage.
